We are The Rainbow Roost! We are a small-scale Wisconsin farm with a unique perspective on farming. Our love for agriculture and a more sustainable lifestyle started in the city. Living in Milwaukee, we raised thousands of houseplants, hatched chicks in our small home incubator, and raised chickens. And we did all of this in a 600 square foot apartment. We are now in the process of building the sustainable homestead that we have always envisioned. We are working with non-profit and government organizations to ensure that we are developing our land using innovative conservation oriented agricultural practices.

The story behind our products
Pasture-ranged animals always
It is important to us that we form relationships with our animals and the land itself to give back what we use. This means giving our animals adequate space to roam and implementing grazing systems which restore and regenerate the land.
Disease-free flock
We take significant measures to ensure that our flock is disease free and reduce exposures. This means restricting contact between our animals and the public, and using appropriate protective gear. We are working to become a NPIP certified flock.
Anti-maceration practices
We are on a mission to find creative and ethical solutions to the status quo practices of the agriculture industry. One common practice in the egg production industry is the maceration or killing of male chicks. We are implementing alternative uses of these chicks to allow them to live reasonably full lives in the sun.
